Tsui-Chen Yen
Choreographer: Yen Tsui-Chen Full-time professor at the Department of Dance, Chinese Culture University, Taiwan She is the leader and choreographer of the Bird and Water Dance Ensemble. From 2003 to 2022, she led the dance troupe on campus and in prisons, performing life education dance shows for a total of around 300 performances.
From 2009 to 2019, she held 26 performance in the United States and 2 in Kitakyushu, Japan, as the artistic director and choreographer. From 2005 to 2019, the troupe won six consecutive championships in the Disabled Division of the National Ballroom Dancing Competition in Kitakyushu, Japan. She has received the "Excellent Work" and "Outstanding Award" in the Dance Creation Group from the Council for Cultural Affairs Taiwan. She has been awarded the "Flying Phoenix Award" by the National Dance Association of R.O.C(Taiwan) multiple times, as well as the "Art and Design Creation Award" from the Chinese Culture University, Taiwan, and the first prize in the Fubon and Wanhai Charity Foundation's "Talent Competition for People with Disabilities".
In 2016, she was awarded the "Dance Teaching Award" at the 57th Chinese Literary Award, Taiwan, and in 2020, she received the "Senior Excellent Education Award" from the Ministry of Education, Taiwan. She has also led the group to visit and perform in Eastern Europe, Asia, the United States, and Canada.
